A theory is appropriate as long as it fits into the fact; when a theory doesn't fit in the fact, it's wise to walk with the fact.

Banks' profitability declines...
The average profitability of commercial banks working in Bangladesh declined moderately in 2011 due to, mainly, reduced income from stock market trading.
